Grow West Lafayette

West Lafayette is home to a vibrant urban forest of more than 12,000 trees, providing shade, improving air quality and enhancing public spaces throughout our community.

Grow West Lafayette is a collaborative initiative between West Lafayette Parks and Recreation, the West Lafayette Parks and Recreation Foundation and West Lafayette Tree Friends. Together, these organizations work to preserve, maintain and expand the city's urban tree canopy for future generations.

Through Grow West Lafayette, community members can sponsor an existing tree, support the planting of a new tree, or contribute to the ongoing care of our urban forest.

Growing a Greener Community

West Lafayette has earned the Arbor Day Foundation's Tree City USA designation every year since 1991, reflecting its long-standing commitment to urban forestry.

The West Lafayette Parks and Recreation Department's Greenspace Division oversees tree planting and maintenance on city property and public rights-of-way. With support from West Lafayette Tree Friends and the Foundation, these efforts help maintain a healthy and resilient urban canopy.
